The Swine Flu, who’s scientific name is H1N1, is a new and very big concern among people living in the United States as well as the world abroad. This type of the flu is usually found in pigs. The swine flu virus has moved from pigs to humans through normal interaction.

The flu carries most of the same symptoms that the regular flu does including: Fever, Headaches, tiredness, cough, sore throat, runny nose, muscle aches, and stomach problems such as nausea and vomiting. Depending on your general health, most people are able to fight the flu off and get back to normal in a couple weeks. If you get sick a lot, then more severe symptoms and side effects could possibly happen.

Some of the most frequently asked questions about this new epidemic include:

"What causes the swine flu to spread"?

"can pets get the swine flu"?

"Is there a home remedy for swine flu"?

“How do I treat swine flu“?

“How do I prevent the swine flu”?

The swine flu is being contracted a lot like the regular flu. Couching, sneezing, poor hygiene and touching are all ways that the swine flu can spread.

The ASPCA ( the american society for the prevention of cruelty to animals) recently stated that the swine flu is of little risk to cats, dogs and other pets. Taking normal precautions will ensure that your pet does not get infected with this strain of influenza.

As for a home remedy, Tamiflu is one of the best ways to relieve and treat the swine flu symptoms. Tamiflu works against both the influenza type A and type B viruses and can also give an effective way to prevent against the attack of H1N1 swine flu virus.

Although the swine flu, so far, has spread throughout many of the states in the US, the highest reported cases have occurred in New York, Texas and California. To prevent yourself from contracting the swine flu virus and it's symptoms, the best thing to do is:

* wash your hands regularly
* do not scratch or touch your eyes
* wear a surgical-type mask
* cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough (preferably NOT with your hands!)
* don’t shake hands
* don’t touch doorknobs and other public items
