Natural Yeast Infections Treatment

Most women have suffered from the uncomfortable symptoms of a yeast infection from time to time. Sometimes it is because you are on antibiotics of some sort for another type of infection like a sinus or throat infection. Sometimes your body’s natural flora just ends up “out of whack” and yeast just grows.

Whether an outside cause of no apparent cause at all, you can treat your yeast infection naturally. Eating yogurt definitely helps keep yeast at bay. The lactobacillus acidophiles bacteria in yogurt also prevents yeast from growing.  However, when you already have an active yeast infection, just eating yogurt won’t help. You can then insert the yogurt into the vagina by either using a tampon soaked in yogurt or a vaginal cream applicator.

The lactobacillus acidophiles bacteria help to create hydrogen peroxide which kills yeast. It is not recommended to use hydrogen peroxide directly, so using the yogurt will certainly work. Tea tree oil is another cure for yeast infections. However, using tea tree oil is a little tricky because you cannot get it on the outside vulva area. Tea tree oil is an irritant and will sting if it touches the outside. Put a small amount on the tip of a tampon and insert the tampon.

The tea tree oil kills the yeast. Another suggestion is to wash your underwear in a solution containing tea tree oil, and then iron your underwear to make sure you have eliminated all yeast. Vinegar is another way of eliminating not only the yeast infection, but the outside itching that everyone experiences when they have an infection. However, this works best when you catch the infection in its beginning stages. Simply take the vinegar bottle in the shower with you and pour it on a wash cloth. Make sure to wash all part of your vulva and vagina with the wash cloth soaked in vinegar.

You will find that within a few days, your symptoms will subside. There are plenty of other natural ways to get rid of yeast. You just have to do a little research and you will find that you can pretty much eliminate an infection before it gets completely out of control requiring doctor’s intervention. Cranberry juice, acidophiles pearls and other such natural remedies are available at the health food stores and can help rid your body of yeast quicker than some of the medications out there.
