A Married Couple Becomes Distressed About Their Unhealthy Drinking and Deliberates Whether They Exhibit Any Signs of Alcohol Addiction

Jerry and Sarah have been married for eight years. They wanted to experience some excitement and fun before they decided to have some kids and so they by design established a super vibrant social life.

The key issue, however, is that almost everything they do to have fun includes drinking. As an illustration, all of the happy hours, dinner engagements, sporting events, family get-togethers, and parties with friends they go to somehow involve drinking.

Sarah and Jerry Begin to Observe Some Clear-Cut Alcohol Related Problems That are Directly Related to Their Abusive Drinking

If they were moderate or responsible drinkers, this wouldn’t be such a difficult circumstance. Since they drink in an irresponsible manner, nevertheless, they are beginning to take note of some obvious alcohol-related difficulties in their lives.

For example, just a few weeks ago Jerry was placed in custody for his first DUI and has been calling off from work because of alcohol-related health issues. Not only this, but Jerry’s last two performance appraisals at work have been less than adequate and he has begun to fail to remember what he says or does the times that he drinks. Lastly, Jerry has been having sleep-related problems and his family is starting to worry about his drinking difficulties.

In a similar manner, Sarah has been feeling unhappy about things in her life and to cope with these feelings, she has been drinking more often than any time in the past seven months. In addition, Sarah has been experiencing quite a few painful headaches and suffering from terrible hangovers from drinking. Lastly, Sarah has been feeling much less energetic when she awakens in the morning, she has been getting to work late at least every other day, and she has been receiving some relatively strong criticism from her family members, coworkers, friends, and relatives about her excessive drinking.

Watching the Television and Accidently Discovering A Remarkable Program About the Signs of Alcoholism

One Wednesday evening while watching the television, Jerry and Sarah without any planning at all found a special documentary about the signs of alcoholism.

This television special was a real eye opener to Sarah and Jerry because numerous alcoholism signs that were highlighted gave them the impression that they were unquestionably linked to numerous alcohol-related drinking problems Sarah and Jerry had been going through.

A Candid Dialogue About Drinking Activities Brings to Light Alcohol Related Legal, Financial, Health, Relationship, and Employment Problems

After watching the television special, Jerry and Sarah made up their minds to have a candid conversation about their drinking situation. They both concurred that most, if not all, of their social activities included drinking, that they were drinking excessively, and that as a couple, they were starting to note alcohol related financial, relationship, health, legal, and employment problems for the first time since they were married.

With thoughts of the television special still imprinted in her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcohol dependency signs they have been displaying could be a warning that they are alcohol dependent or maybe becoming dependent on alcohol. Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s inquiry and so he suggested that they schedule an appointment with one of the healthcare practitioners at the local alcohol rehab clinic to find out more about the gravity of their drinking issues.

Concentrating On Your Drinking Issues Just May Decrease Your Trepidation and Give You Some Tranquility

Strangely enough, although their drinking circumstances hadn’t yet changed, it was evident that Sarah and Jerry were at least addressing their drinking problems, they were ready to find out more about their drinking situation, and they were concerned about how they could notably reduce or do away with the alcohol-related problems that had begun to get worse.

When Jerry and Sarah went to bed that evening, they determined that the next morning, Jerry would call and schedule an appointment for both of them at the substance abuse rehab center located just South of the State Capital. After they made a promise to one another that they would do whatever it takes to cope with the drinking difficulties that had emerged in their lives, they actually had the most revitalizing night’s sleep they could recall in the last six months.

Just before he fell asleep, Jerry turned to Sarah and mentioned how simple it is to decrease one’s sense of dread and truly experience a sense of calm by attending to one’s problems head-on and deciding to do something constructive about them.
